Who We Are?

Aberdeen Beach Community (ABC)

We are individuals representing members of clubs that utilise the Aberdeen beach area for water sports and water-based leisure activities including the volunteer organisation Aberdeen Surf Life Saving Club (ASLSC).

The Aim

The aims of Aberdeen Beach Community will be to:

  • Support the building of a clubhouse as part of Aberdeen Beach Redevelopment
  • represent the views of those concerned with access to and facilities for the enjoyment of water-based activities along the Aberdeen beach front.

Why?

Please see the the History of ABC to find out more.

Mission statement:

To represent the views of those concerned with access to and facilities for the enjoyment of water-based activities along the Aberdeen beachfront.

I want to help!

We need your views, be it for or against our aims, so we can drive this community project forward democratically for the ultimate benefit of Aberdeen as a whole. Can you spare a minute to do the following:

*100% of all donations received will be spent on achieving the aims of this community group through activities such as the legal and design consultation services required in order to progress. We will practice an open accounting approach in order to give full transparency on where your money goes. Should the initial ABC Clubhouse project not come to fruition we will look to our members to suggest alternative beach related causes to distribute remaining funds amongst.

What about traffic, parking, play areas, stadium etc….

Being a volunteer-run group we will not initially aim to represent all views on every aspect of the beach masterplan due to the effort this would take and limited personal time. However, we are happy to collate and distribute findings as they come to light. Should resources become available we will happily expand our remit provided we can give the focus and attention that citizens valued views and opinions require.
